Ginny Wilmerding is the author of "Smart Women and Small Business: How to Make the Leap from Corporate Careers to the Right Small Enterprise" (Wiley, October 2006). Ginny is a small business consultant and former small business owner. Her business background includes senior executive roles at small private enterprises and Internet startups in the Boston area as well as leadership roles at large corporations in the United States and China (Lucent Technologies Inc., AT&T Corp. and Hutchison Whampoa Ltd.). She is a former research associate at the Harvard Business School.
Ginny has negotiated the purchase of small businesses and has professionally authored business plans, private equity placement memorandums, and business cases. She graduated summa cum laude with a degree in East Asian Studies from Princeton University in 1991.
Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, she now lives in Brookline, Massachusetts, with her husband and two children.
