I love books, and I love libraries. Ever since I returned to the U.S. after living abroad in the 1990s and re-discovered the joy of free public libraries, I have gotten full benefits from this particular use of my tax dollars. Not only did I use the public library system extensively to research my book, Smart Women and Small Business, but I use the library to borrow books, videos and audiobooks for my young children, and I constantly request books my book group is reading. I often buy a copy of a book I found at a library once I've read it and decide I want it for my permanent collection. Naturally, I hope that my book will be widely purchased by public libraries, where it will live on forever as a resource for women entrepreneurs. So imagine my delight when I dicovered this week that the New York City public library system has 17 copies of my book on order for its branches! You, my readers, can help the book make its way into your hometown libraries, too, by either filling out an online purchase request form or speaking to a librarian. Thank you in advance! And don't forget to order a copy for your personal library, too.
