A cool thing has happened lately as I've begun to get serious about exploring my next business venture: previously unconnected aspects of my life are converging. Example no. 1: I have finally made significant headway into improving my personal and household filing system and getting my personal financial information organized, and instead of feeling this was a boring domestic responsibility, it turned out it is exactly what I need to have clarity on to get financing for my next business!! Example no. 2: I was a speaker and panel moderator last week at the Women's Congress Boston, where I also did a book signing for Smart Women and Small Business. But at that same conference, I attended panels and made great connections for financing my next small business venture. I also got to chatting with Nell Merlino, whose Make Mine a $Million program is going gangbusters. She was advising an entreprenur in her contest (coincidentally, one of the ones I interviewed for my book) to involve her husband and family as much as possible in her business, as an insurance policy that her work wouldn't remove her from the rest of her life. All of these "convergence" lessons reminded me of the holistic reason that I'm in business for myself in the first place- my life, my family, my business are all intertwined and have to co-exist in chaotic harmony.
